About the company
Activity of the Firm
Laboratory of Medical Informatics Ltd. was established in 1991 in Satu Mare, Romania.
The activity of this firm is mainly based on: research, designing, microproduction, studies on electronic equipments and medical informatics systems. The firm is also involved in educational and training activities in technical medical branch, or analyzing, diagnosing and medical recovery in neuropsychiatry using the results of our own researches.
Firm history
The firm came into being in 1974 due to a group of researchers in different fields of activity. The main researches were focused on objectification, translation, automatic processing and analysis of nonverbal behavior.
It was approached, by turn, automatic analysis of the gait pressure, of the speech background, analysis of handwriting, of drawing and gesture.
At last all these were comprised into a new scientific, technical and medical field called nonverbal communication. These researches have been financed by the Academy of Medical Sciences from Romania. Part of the researches were done with the collaboration of Romanian Institute for Computers in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca, The Central Institute for Informatics and Management Bucharest, The Institute of Medicine of Tirgu-Mures, The Factory of Peripheral Equipments and others. These research projects have been guided by the National Council for Science and Technology being included in the National Research Plan.
About the firm
The Laboratory of Medical Informatics is a small private company, being based on highly qualified specialists with a reach experience in scientific research with great creative possibilities.
The Firm has great number of valuable collaborators in rich fields of activity, whose value has been tested in previous collaborations.
We have the experience of collaboration with 14 institutions and over 80 scientific researchers having over 5 products confirmed till 1986.
This offers a great flexibility in the achievement of the contracted projects.
The main fields of development refer to:
- nonverbal communication: gait, writing, gesture, drawing, speech background;
- home biological parameters monitoring: EKG, EEG, temperature, muscle pulse;
- biofeedback machines: thermic, alpha cerebral, pulse, cutaneous resistance;
- physical and psychic recovery systems: CDs audio cassettes;
- courses for beginners and training in using the investigations with systems of therapy realized by us within knowing the medical techniques.
The coordinator of this interdisciplinary group of researchers, starting in 1974 was MD. Virgil Enatescu who also became the director of the Laboratory of Medical Informatics S.R.L. in 1991.
MD Virgil Enatescu has graduated the General Medicine Faculty of Cluj in 1964 with two specializing stages that of clinical laboratory and that of psychiatry. He became senior psychiatrist and got the doctors degree in Medical Sciences in 1977 with the thesis "Nonverbal communication in Psychiatry".
His activity in the field of Medical Informatics was officially recognized by being declared an expert by the Ministry of Health and the Academy for Medical Sciences, also becoming a member of the National Board for Medical Informatics of the Romanian Academy. He is also a member of the Society of Men of Science of Romania. Since 1979 he is a member of the International Cybernetics Society in Namur Belgium and a science member of the same society since 1986 and of the American Cybernetics Society since 1981.
As a proof of competence is the fact that he was a reviewer for the last three World Congresses of Medical Informatics MEDINFO.
He is the author or co-author of 5 volumes of scientific works and over 200 works and articles presented and published in Romania and abroad.
He is also the author of 5 patents in the interdisciplinary field of medical technology. He has the experience of coordinating the research projects in which took part 14 institutions and over 80 specialists and researchers having 5 products confirmed till 1986.
He has received "Gheorghe Marinescu" prize of the Romanian Academy.
Collateral Activities
Since 1977 the group representing the Laboratory of Medical Informatics, Satu Mare, has started and participated in the organizing of the National Symposiums of Medical Informatics MEDINF. Since 1990 our Firm is awarding MEDINF National Prize for the best work on medical informatics achieved in the country. Since 1992 it awards every year the "Edmond Nicolau" for the best research in interdisciplinary biocybernetic research.
Products Made by the Firm as Microproduction :
-
CDs audio cassette with relaxation training (Trade Mark) , both in Romanian and in Hungarian, based on 24 years of experience, of psychotherapy and of human voice analysis;
-
biofeedback alpha cerebral portable after our own project;
-
cerebral electrode systems after our project;
-
thermal biofeedback apparatus;
-
System AGILE GAIT 2000 for gait pressure automatic analysis;

Since 1994, basically, the company had developed a research and development activity, based on the contracts made with de Reassert and Technology Ministry.
From this contracts have result the AGILE-GAIT 1996 and AGILE-GESTURE 1997, automatic analysis of the gait pressure and of the human gesture, based on artificial intelligence techniques.
It has been realized a project of telemonitoring of the sick, ill, handicapped and old men at home.
Also, it was made a major study, in collaboration with the Anthropological Research Center Bucharest, regarding the normality models.
In the last few years, was set up the base of college education, both for the psychology students and for interdisciplinary research in the field of cognitive sciences.
This year was made a new material regarding the relaxation, which will be followed by the draw up of a new version of relaxation book and cassette. Our company is open for international interdisciplinary collaboration.
